One thing I will not do in my review is re-hash all the features that are posted on the Brunton web site. All of you are more than capable of clicking the link and reading the specs and you don’t need me to state them again. What I will do is share real life usage.
I have had my ADC PRO for about a year and a half, I carry it with me at all times. If you are a weather geek/nerd you really need some sort of ADC. The feature I appreciate the most is the automatic data collecting. I have mine set to collect the data every hour and I upload the data to my PC at the end of each month using the optional ADC-IR. Why? Well because I am The Most Adventurist Man in the World and I need to know the weather data for wherever I am at any given hour of my life, either that or I am one of those weather geek/nerds I spoke of earlier. The ADC PRO is small and fits into your pocket with ease, I did not like the supplied strap so it was tossed early in my relationship with the ADC PRO, I made two straps out of black cord, one for around my wrist and the other for hanging around neck.
While sleeping outside or in a tent the ADC PRO is perfect for recording temperature, humility and barometric pressure. In the morning you can easily scroll through the temperature graph and see just how well that North Face Cat’s Meow bag performed. The downfall to the temperature gauge is that it is extremely slooooow to record the temperature. This slowness also hampers getting wind chill, you really need to leave the ADC PRO outside for some time to get the true outside temperature then you can use the anemometer for wind chill. While on the river last weekend I held it in the water (its water proof also) for 15 minutes and the temperature barely changed, my feet were numb so I abandoned the test. So not so good for getting water temperature, however you can use the anemometer for getting river speed. As I said I am not going to re-hash all the features, but I will say most of the
