Tropical rain forests share at least one thing with the Patagonia Ice Cap: wet weather.
For trekking and hiking in drenching conditions, the Torrentshell provides 2.5-layer waterproof/breathable protection that's durable, lightweight and without frills. The hood has a laminated visor and can be roll down and stowed away when not needed. With the center zipper having exterior and interior storm flaps, the rain will stay out.
The jacket has pit zips for added ventilation, a microfleece-lined neck, and a drawcord hem. Plus when you are done with the nylon jacket, it stuffs into one of two zippered hand warmer pockets that boast a clip-in loop.

2.5-layer H2No® shell fabrics are waterproof, windproof, breathable and highly packable. They combine a water-repellent shell fabric with our H2No waterproof barrier and a raised pattern on the inside, instead of the full-coverage interior scrim used in 3-layer fabrics. The raised pattern makes 2.5-layer fabric packages lighter and more compressible while still protecting the waterproof barrier.
